Privacy Policy
Summary: ClipCaster runs on your own computer. Your videos, captions, API keys and account tokens are stored there and are never sent to Green Bread Enterprises LLC. ClipCaster sends a video and its caption to a social platform only when you click Post and confirm. We do not use analytics or ads, and we do not sell or share your data.
This policy explains how ClipCaster (the "App"), made by Green Bread Enterprises LLC ("Green Bread", "we", "us"), handles information. It applies to the ClipCaster desktop application and to this website's ClipCaster pages.
1. How ClipCaster works
ClipCaster is a desktop application that runs locally on your computer and serves its interface only to your own browser at a loopback address (127.0.0.1). Green Bread does not operate any server that receives, stores or processes your ClipCaster content or account data. When you connect a platform or post a clip, ClipCaster talks directly from your computer to that platform's official API.
2. Information the App handles
Content you create
Video files, titles, captions and hashtags in the folders you point ClipCaster at, plus the App's own records of which clips were posted where. These stay on your computer.
Platform credentials and tokens
When you connect a platform, you sign in on that platform's own consent page, and ClipCaster receives an access token (and, where offered, a refresh token). ClipCaster also stores the developer-app keys you enter in Settings. Tokens and keys are stored only in the App's local data folder on your computer.
Basic account information
To show which account is connected, ClipCaster reads your account's basic profile information, such as your username or handle and display name. This is shown in the App and stored locally.
What we do not collect
ClipCaster contains no analytics, telemetry, advertising or tracking code. Green Bread receives no information from the App. This website does not use cookies or analytics; it loads fonts from Google Fonts, which may log your IP address under Google's Privacy Policy.
3. How the information is used
ClipCaster uses the information above only to provide the features you ask for:
- to show your clip library and let you edit titles and captions;
- to check clips against each platform's technical requirements;
- to upload a clip and its caption to the platform you choose, after you confirm;
- to show which account is connected and record where each clip was posted.
ClipCaster never posts, deletes, comments or takes any other action on your accounts without your explicit confirmation, and it does not read your other posts, messages, followers or analytics.
4. Platform permissions
ClipCaster requests only the permissions it needs to post on your behalf:
| Platform | Permissions requested | Why |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube (Google) | youtube.upload | Upload the videos you choose to your channel with the title, description and privacy setting you pick. |
| TikTok | user.info.basic, video.upload, video.publish | Show which account is connected; send a video to your TikTok inbox or, where permitted, publish it. |
| Instagram (Meta) | instagram_basic, instagram_content_publish, pages_show_list, pages_read_engagement, business_management | Find the Instagram Professional account linked to your Facebook Page and publish a Reel to it. |
| X | tweet.read, tweet.write, users.read, media.write, offline.access | Upload a video, create the post, show which account is connected, and stay signed in without asking again. |
5. Sharing
We do not sell, rent or share your information. The only party that receives your content is the platform you choose to post to, at the moment you confirm the post. Each platform handles that content under its own terms and privacy policy:
- YouTube: YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy
- TikTok: TikTok Privacy Policy
- Instagram: Instagram/Meta Privacy Policy
- X: X Privacy Policy
6. YouTube API Services
ClipCaster uses YouTube API Services. By connecting YouTube, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of your data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. ClipCaster's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can revoke ClipCaster's access to your Google account at any time at Google security settings.
7. Storage, retention and security
All App data stays on your computer for as long as you keep it. Tokens remain until you disconnect the platform, the token expires, or you revoke access. ClipCaster stores tokens and keys outside any shared or synced location by default and never includes them in source control. Because the data lives on your device, keeping that device secure (account password, disk encryption, up-to-date software) protects it.
8. Your choices and data deletion
Since Green Bread holds none of your data, you control deletion directly:
- Disconnect a platform: in ClipCaster, open Settings and click Disconnect next to the platform. This deletes that platform's tokens from your computer.
- Revoke access at the platform: Google, TikTok (Settings and privacy → Security → Apps and services permissions), Instagram apps and websites or Facebook business integrations, X connected apps.
- Delete everything: uninstall ClipCaster and delete its
datafolder. This removes all keys, tokens and job history. - Content you posted lives on the platform and can be deleted there.
If you'd like help, or confirmation of any of this, email [email protected].
9. Children
ClipCaster is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information. Because ClipCaster keeps your information on your own device and Green Bread does not receive it, you can exercise these rights directly using the steps above. For any request or question, contact us below.
11. Changes
We may update this policy as ClipCaster changes. We'll post the new version here with a new "Last updated" date, and material changes will be noted in the App's release notes.
